This festival is held November 27th and 28th 2009. The show will be returning to the main street in Sanibel; Periwinkle Way. This is a nice sized event for Sanibel somewhere between 50 and 65 artists. A good number based on the ratio of patrons on this holiday weekend.
The show is now held on the main street in Sanibel which has excellent visibility. Every resident and visitor will be driving by the location during the festival and we will benefit greatly from the move. Last year the event was held on the grounds of City Hal which is just off the main road, with the move to the main road we will do much better.
There has been a Thanksgiving weekend art festival held on Sanibel Island for close to 20 years. In 2008 boulderbrook productions hosted the show for the first time, carrying on the tradition established by BIG ARTS.
The 2008 Festival was the first time we had run this event. As always some did great, some did good, some broke even and some lost their keys. We believe this will be a very good show and we have partnered with The School House Theater.
On November 18th, 2008 Sanibel Island was again named one of the “the best in the world” in Condé Nast Traveler magazine’s 21st Annual Readers’ Choice Awards competition, earning a spot on the Top 10 North America Islands list.
This is one of the reasons why we will be displaying the works of 70 of the most interesting and unique artists gathered in one of the finest locations in one of Florida's most picturesque communities. The Sanibel Masters Art Festival promises to be Sanibel Islands Premier Art Event. The festival features the finest artists, gourmet food booths, and live entertainment.
We will be holding the event on it’s traditional Thanksgiving weekend, November 27 & 28 2009. We do our best to keep the character, structure, and quality of this event as it has always been.
